AO3 again

nova
The good news: I was able to join (thanks, [info]iiiskaaa!) and to change the horrible eyebleedy everything! in bold! like! Shatner! reads fic! font.

The bad news: Apparently my fic is somehow not searchable. Looking for "Megatron/Starscream" yields a whole bunch of happy stuff but... not my fic.

*peers sidelong at the Universe*

If anyone who's used this thing for longer than I have knows something I need to uncheck or check or recheck or do something with, er, help?

Huh, when I click on the tag, it comes up: http://archiveofourown.org/tags/Megatron*s*Starscream/works

...but not when I search for it in the search box. That is very weird. But it doesn't look like you did anything wrong, though--there might be a lag in their system somewhere, so maybe try it tomorrow and see if it works then? Only thing I can think of.

Hm. It's still not showing up, and has only 7 hits. I don't think anyone knows it's there that I didn't tell about it.

I'm glad you could get the layout into a readable state for you :) (wish I could do the same with ff.net - that's only readable for me if I look at it on my phone, then it takes ages to load.)

I agree with Caius, it's probably just a lag. Things can take time over there, but at least the people who code and run it respond to issues and try to resolve them.

On a selfish note, I'm really happy you're posting there now, as I find the layouts incredibly easy on the eye, and I don't have to fiddle with setting style=mine as I do on LJ and DW. :)

I'm glad it's easier for you to read. Does that mean I'll be seeing more comments from you if I post over there? I'm still trying to figure out what places to post make the most sense, and I'm most interested in where people leave most feedback.

Which is probably the Pit, to be honest, but that tends to be a lot more drive-by-ish. I'm hoping that people on AO3 are a little more prone to actual conversation. :-)

Have you linked back from LJ? I find that most readers aren't exactly native to AO3 (although that seems to be slowly changing), they tend to come there from linkbacks on LJ and DW.

You'll see the same frequency of comments, I'm afraid, as I always comment when I read. What I need is more free time. And maybe a car that drives itself, so I can read fic on my commute.

Re. conversation - I've found AO3 to be as good as LJ for that. And better for the frequency of feedback. The people who like to comment don't stop commenting (in my experience), but others turn up to leave kudos, which is lovely. Turns out there are people reading my fic who I didn't realise even knew about it.
